During National apprenticeship week, our marketing department spent the day at the My Future, My Choice event held at St James Park. The event brought together local employers, training providers, and schools/ colleges, all focused on inspiring young people as they begin to think about their future careers. Representing Southbay, our marketing team engaged with students to highlight the wide range of roles available in civil engineering, not just on site, but in areas such as marketing, social value, health and safety, and procurement.
Throughout the day, we spoke to students about the pathways into the industry, including apprenticeships, degree level entry, and work experience opportunities. We hope that we have managed to open some of their minds to see how varied and rewarding civil engineering can be.
