We are now in the final stages of construction on our latest marine infrastructure project, marking another milestone in our continued delivery of high-quality coastal and port facilities.
The project involved the design and build of a 90-metre section of quay wall, complete with anchorage, successfully delivered within an operational environment.
All piling works has now been complete, including the installation of a combi wall formed from 29 tubular steel piles, each measuring 1422mm in diameter and 20m in length. The new quay provides a bearing capacity of 10t/m² and will play an important role in supporting the renewable energy sector.
The newly constructed quay also includes berthing facilities such as fendering, bollards, and quayside ladders, ensuring functionality, safety, and longevity.
To date, the project has achieved over 50,000 man hours worked accident-free, with zero environmental incidents recorded, demonstrating our commitment to safety and environmental responsibility.
Beyond the construction works, the project team has actively contributed to social value initiatives, including hosting a presentation and site visit for Benfield High School students, and providing a work placement opportunity for a Newcastle University student.
