Repairs to Dolphin 11 were carried out in 2012 after a ship collided with the structure and caused damage.
The existing structure required a new concrete soffit, a soffit shutter / working platform was constructed in between the existing piles, this was designed and installed so grout loss would occur. Dowels were drilled into the existing soffit and holes were cored through the full depth of the dolphin to pour the specially designed concrete mix. Formwork was erected, secured and checked prior to pouring. The concrete pours were scheduled around the spring tides and during pouring there was no grout loss into the river.
